Allow Me to Digress for a Minute...

and to tell you about my very favorite product from the big, huge International gift show last month. It's so cool and well-conceived, in fact, that it might actually inspire me to get a cat, or, since they generally only let you adopt them in pairs, two.

It's called the Modkat, and it is inarguably the most beautiful and well-designed litter-box, ever. It comes in high-gloss white, black, red, and blue, and it employs an Ikea bag-like liner, which you can wash and re-use. The idea is that your kitten gets some privacy, the high-walls prevent him from scattering litter everywhere, and the grate up top collects any extra bits that might be stuck to his paws. Clean, slick, and eco-friendly.

They've been on pre-order for ages, but the word is that the company is going to begin shipping them out on Monday. It's not cheap, but it's built to last. I want one--and apparently, the cats that go with it.
