Backstage at Vena Cava: Blackberry Lips, Messy Buns, "Corporate Blue" Nails, and....Twilight
(Yeah, that's "Breaking Dawn" she's reading!)
MAKEUP: Here's the recipe for the super-cool, totally unshiny, plummy lips: a blend of Mac Pro Matte Lipmixes, in a ratio of 1 part red, 1 part blue, 4 parts white, 4 parts purple. No gloss, no nothing.Click through for tips on recreating the hair and nail looks.
HAIR: For the buns, Ted Gibson (a.k.a. sweetest celebrity stylistin the history of celebrity stylists) pulled roughly blowdried hairinto a low ponytail, slicked some Tame It Lotion through the top, roughed up the ponytail, and then sprayed the hell out of it with hairspray before looping it into a bun. Totally doable.
NAILS: The Vena Cava girls were inspired by the color of a Staples flyer.Upon receipt of said Staples flyer ("20% off paper clips!"), ButterLondon manicurist Noni Creme custom-mixed two polishes--half Artful Dodger, half Mariner--to get to the desired shade: Corporate Blue.
