If I was given some perverse, shallow Sophie's Choice of fall fashion and I had to pick either coats or boots, I honestly don't think I could make the decision.

I love buying and wearing these items with a kind of scary rabidity, they both make me feel better about the death of summer, and I look forwardto new versions of each pretty much all year. For example, this season, I'm reallydying for a houndstooth coat. Only I can't decide if I want aJessica Lange in Tootsie style, one that's more bold, '80s Baby Boom , or ifI should stick with a classic, ladylike look, like something Jackie K.would've worn in the early '60s. Thoughts? What are your favorite fallpieces?
