Fashion Week Scorecard: 3.1 Phillip Lim
The Show: 3.1 Phillip Lim
The Celebs: Leighton Meester, Alexa Chung, Lauren Conrad
The Music: At this show, you really have to talk about the music and the set together: against a mirrored, illicitly-red backdrop (which actually did cast a hazy, after hours, neon-sign-like glow on the audience) came the swanky lounge sounds of Nina Simone, then a remix of danceclub-y Daft Punk's "Around the World".
The Swag: To those in the front row: generous gift certificates to Gilt Groupe, Jurlique beauty products, and perfume
The Look: These ladies aren't all work--despite their khaki trenchcoats (also done in red patent), oversize briefcase clutches and button-down shirts (worn as minidresses). Check out those 50s-era pinup heels (sizzle!), the super sparkly accordion pleat dresses and tightly pulled-back hair just waiting to be let loose.
What We Loved: The rolled-down waistband pants (glam lounge pants strike again! A trend is building...), the high-waisted belted mackintosh with bows trailing down the back, the "crocodile" jacquard fabrics, the plunge-neck accordion pleated silk dresses that had blocks of sequin metallic on the bodice. Glam-tastic.
