Fashion Week Scorecard: Isaac Mizrahi
The Show: Isaac Mizrahi
The Scene: Mizrahi innovated this season: Instead of asking models to simply walk up and down a runway, he had them criss-cross it, walking up and down flights of stairs and (shielded by umbrellas) under rain which poured down from the roof.
The Music: Original live music from the two-person band The Bad Plus.
The Look: Romantic and girlie--corset tops, asymmetrical tulleskirts, candy-colored sequined dresses, frothy cocktail dresses,watercolor-esque printed dresses, structured jumpsuits, ruffle-frontblouses, and a finale of mermaid-style long gowns.
What We Loved: The unexpected menswear-inspired pieces, which added edge to all the ruffles, sequins and flowers.
The collection included black sequined tuxedo-style shorts suits, cropped blazers, and satin trousers; all the models wore cut-out, two-toned oxford heels and adorable cardboard bowler hats!
