Fashion Week Scorecard: Marc by Marc Jacobs
The Scene: The Lexington Avenue Armory
The Music: Courtesy of Fashion Week mainstay Frederic Sanchez
The Celebs: Marc, himself
The Models: Suri, Suvi, Freja, Abbey, and lots of not-yet-big-name cool girls
The Look: Intentionally or not, Marc Jacobs has come up with a brilliant marketing strategy for selling clothes in an economic slump: make something for everyone. Jacobs left almost no trend unturned in his "little Marc" (as it's affectionately known) show. He started at the top with bunny bows in the models' hair and moved on to stripes, polka dots, tribal prints, plaid, neon, lady-like blazers, shorts, full short skirts, skinny bright jeans, silk dresses, sundresses, jumpsuits, sweatshirting, and more--many in just a single look. The combinations were endlessly cute and the accessories, always a layup at MJ, clinched the must-have deal. Fans will be lining up for metallic or neon lace-up low wedges, striped elastic belts; heart or wave print fabric totes; multi-grommet leather bags and market director Anne Keane's favorite, printed low-top sneakers.
What We Loved: The orange/pink neon striped party dress; the mixes; the models
