Postcard from Milan: Geox

Fashion director Hope Greenberg reports from the runways of Milan.

Sara, the Geox PR maven, said we were in for a surprise when we walked into the spring preview the other day. She was right.

Geox is a wildly successful Italian line of chic comfort shoes that all Europeans are obsessed with and that Americans are now catching on to as Geox stores open across the US. To honor their New York presence, and to offer something special for Fashion Week, Geox created a collection of Empire State Building shoes--bedazzled pumps with heels in the shape of the iconic structure. In addition to the NYC landmark rendered miniature, the presentation brought a surprising piece of my home city to Italy: The shoes were presented against a photo backdrop of the building that, bizarrely, is the exact view from my bedroom window.
