Postcard From Milan: A New Look For Woolrich

The jet lag is fading and with some good spaghetti pomodoro and risotto Milanese fortifying us, we made it through the first full day of Milan Fashion Week. Things got off to a strong start when we stopped by the showroom for the recently relaunched Woolrich (yes, that of the oversize plaid wool shirt).

We didn't know quite what to expect and were happy to find the cutestcollection of shirting, tees and great sportswear-y pieces. The shirting and basics are under the label B.D. Baggies, while thesportswear is called Woolrich John Rich & Bros. All will be soldthis spring at stores in the U.S., including Barneys Co-op, StevenAlan and Bloomingdale's.

The button-front shirts are that amazing soft, rumpled cotton with a just-right fit, while the rest of the collectionis made up of small leather jackets, of-the-moment washed silks, safariand bomber jackets in tech-fabric or cotton, plus all of the thingsyou'd want to mix them with. Shirts are priced around $100, and I can't wait toget my hands on a few.
