Statement Necklaces: Here to Stay

I love a big prominent necklace, because it's essentially a great cheat--it screams "effort" when in fact, it's one of the easiest things to put on in the morning. Plus, you can wear them with pretty blouses, preppy oxfords, or even over turtleneck sweaters. Though they may seem too dominate, they're actually really useful.

I'm trying to decide whether to buy this acrylic etched map of the world pieceby Design Glut--I think it's really fun and cool (and if you look at thepicture of it on the girl, not all that overwhelming, size-wise), butit might be a bit ungainly? Your thoughts?
