Victorialand: The Perfect Shirt
Sometimes brands start out small, by doing one thing really really well--remember when Alice & Olivia specialized in just trousers, for instance? This season we've got the debut collection from Victorialand, which is making the oft-unexciting button down shirt, well, excitingly cool.
First, designer Kate Wendelborn is playing with a slightly borrowedfrom the boyfriend shape--slightly longer, slightly loose--and thentwisting the seams, lopping off a sleeve, adding narrow tux pleats orquilting across the shoulders, or contrast color patches. And despitethe fact that all of this could come across completely eccentric,they're totally wearable and have even piqued the interest of megae-tailor shopbop.com, which is now stocking the line.
