Everyone has at least one thing that they're pathologically addicted to obsessively buying. For me, it's men's pajamas. When my drawer stuffed with them stopped closing, I put myself on enforced hiatus but come spring, the embargo is off. I'm pretty sure I'm going to have to own every pattern of the new, irresistible Steven Alan pajama collection.

These are the ultimate in raingear. They look just like the mid-calf leather moto boots I wear every day, but they're made of waterproof rubber so when it's pouring out, I don't have to completely re-think my outfit to accommodate "rain boots". Not only do these appeal to my sartorial vanity, but there's also very good cause involved.

Right now. Because as much as I think I'm going to pull my trusty Tumi wheelie out of the closet when I leave for a trip, I just don't. It's always some sort of canvas tote (with zipper) that makes the cut instead.

They're easier to cram into the overhead bins, which is key since I refuse to check bags. And there's something gloriously unfussy about canvas.
