Common Projects Finally Designs Shoes for Women!
Ever wish you could create the perfect pair of shoes? That desire is what originally spurred two men--Peter Poopat and Flavio Girolami--to start a footwear brand called Common Projects. Their label is now synonymous with classic, well-crafted, minimalistic styles (like great desert boots and brogues in muted earth tones, low and high-top sneakers in buttery, monochrome leather). But, until recently, the duo only designed for men.
New York Times ' blog The Moment got a sneak peek at Common Projects' new, amazing woman's shoe line (pictured above), which includes black oiled-canvas brogues and light-pink, gum soled sneakers. The debut is perfectly-timed: one look at this season's catwalks (from Marc Jacobs to Calvin Klein) and it's clear that flats are (thankfully!) a big new trend. --Alisa Gould-Simon
