Coolest. Halloween. Makeup. EVER. (Special props to blynn for finding these!)
In the comments on Emily's post about needing the perfect un-ho-ish Halloween costume, commenter "blynn" gave multiple links to MAC's Halloween makeup looks. And holy crap--they are super-cool.
First, check out these face charts for all the looks here. All of them have step-by-step instructions for how to achieve, say, the Lichtenstein effect that blynn loves (and I'm right there with her, by the way).
And then, once you've soaked in that coolness, take in THIS sea-creature-meets-mermaid-meets-Gila-monster, also created by MAC, and put into instructional slideshow form by the LA Times :
You get the scale effect by holding fishnets over your face (an inherently spooky act all by itself) and brushing on deep blue eyeshadow:
