Found! The Perfect Denim Jacket
The other day my eBay/Etsy-blogging pal Jenn wrote about how the perfect jean jacket had always eluded her. I'm compelled to readdress this, since it really is one of those pieces that everyone could benefit from having in their closet.
A couple readers mentioned Levi's in the comments section, and I totally agree. I love this really classic version that's actually a reproduction of their famous Trucker style, down to the same orange Levi's tab on the pocket. The only adjustment made to the original is the fit, which is subtly lady-fied with a leaner silhouette that's a little nipped in at the waist and cropped at the hip. I love the rugged, clean-lined look, which is perfect for toughening up floaty dresses or adding some character to plain black pants. This is the kind of thing you'll have forever (I have one I bought 1997 that I'm still rocking!) and gets even cooler over time, as it molds to your body and the denim develops that patina that comes with good use and age.
