Isaac Mizrahi's Debut Boutique (Cheesecakes Not Included)

Isaac Mizrahi is one of the most recognizable of designer names when it comes to fashion. He launched his namesake line nearly three decades ago (and was subsequently canonized in the unforgettable '90s documentary Unzipped). Since then, he's experienced a rebirth: partnering with Target for a longstanding (now defunct) series of collection collaborations, and, more recently, assuming creative directorship of Liz Claiborne and reinvigorating the floundering fashion house. But, despite having already enjoyed a much-heralded, lengthy career, he's never had his own boutique--that is, until now.

Seated at 23 East 67th Street, the Upper East Side shop is a sprawling 1,500 square feet. According to Women's Wear Daily, "The space looks like a design studio, with dozens of Mizrahi's sketches hanging on the wall, wallpaper tables displaying sweaters and chairs covered in Day Glo-colored fabric." The boutique will service customers looking for designs from Mizrahi's eponymous label as well as custom-made items.

Shoppers looking for Mizrahi wares on a significantly tighter budget (not to mention those with an insatiable sweet tooth) stay tuned: Come December, he'll be selling everything from furniture and cheesecake to handbags and footwear on his own show on QVC.--Alisa Gould-Simon
