Postcard from Paris: Isabel Marant
You can always count on a good number of top models walking in the Isabel Marant show (like Isabeli, Carmen Kass, Anouk, Natasha Poly, and Anja Rubik). They're not appearing because she's paying them top dollar, but rather, because they're actually all her friends and because, in real-life, they wear her designs. In other words, Marant makes the clothes the cool girls want to wear.
The silhouettes are mostly standard from season to season, yet she always mixes up the fabrics to keep each collection feeling new.
For spring, she worked a bohemian vibe, mixing her standard strong-shouldered tweed jackets and engineer-striped denim with lurex stripes; tiered, ruffle dresses; hot pink nubby cotton pieces; feather earrings; and fringe- and chain-embellished slouchy boots.
As always, it all felt like that thrown-together, je ne sais quoi French girl chic that everyone at Lucky lives for.
