Postcard from Paris: OMG CHANEL!!!!!!
I could fill this entire website with the over-the-top details of the Chanel show this morning. For starters, there was the barn that Karl Lagerfeld built in the majestic Grand Palais museum which hinted at the the country chic to come. Then there were the celebrities, like Prince and Claudia Schiffer who were sitting two feet in front of us.
There was the haystack in which the models, in young, light variations of the house's iconic suits and dresses, popped out of to walk the hay-strewn runway.
There were the accessories: studded wood-heel clogs; mind-bendingly adorable bags; gilded jewelry and hair clips.
And then, when you thought this was all enough to make your week, your entire trip and maybe your life, Lily Allen and her band appeared on a platform that rose out of the floor to perform her hit "Not Fair" with a pair of shimmying models as backups.
And finally, there was Karl himself coming out for his bow while a menage a trois (two girls and a guy) took a roll in the hay in front of him.
