Sneak Peek: Charles David's Spring Line

Although the cold weather has hardly set in, I'm already picturing what strappy, open toe, bright heels I'll be wearing with my spring dresses. And Charles David spring 2010 collection gave me a peek at what's in store for us next season.

Cork has always been one of favorite shoe trends because it can be paired with almost anything, so I was happy to see these peep-toestyles. I especially like the edgier version with scalloped edges and a superwearable heel.

But my absolute favorite spring trend would have to be these adorablecrochet heels (below). "The crochet gives a very artesian, homespun feel tothe hippie girl this season. It gives a high heel more of aneffortless, casual charm with softening up the silhouette a bit," says creative director Colin Robertson. "I love that these shoeslook like they were hand-crafted at home...the idea of a girl crocheting a pair ofheels and throwing them on as she runs out the door makes me smile!"

And for those of you who were wondering if gladiators will still bearound for another season--they will be! Former Mike & Chris designer Amarjit Khalsa, who designs the spin-off Charles by Charles David line, created a two versions for spring: a buckled wedge and high heel style.

And for those rainy days when you still want to look chic these 'look like leather but are actually rubber' rainboots ($125) are a great buy.
