The Perfect Wool Dress and A Picture Worth One Hundred Bucks

I fell for Rogan's wool dress after spotting it at La Garconne. Knit dresses are my end-all favorite thing to wear when it's cold out (so chic, so easy, so cozy) and this is truly the best one I've seen so far this season.

The details are really on-point: extra-long sleeves, scoopneck, slash pockets, and--best of all--a leather cord that ties across the upper back (a subtle but sexy touch). It's cut straight and the fit is lean but not too clingy, and it's made of a blend of baby alpaca and merino wool. All in all, such a lovely, versatile means for staying warm over the next few months.

I also discovered the exact same dress in black at Hejfina, though you'd never know it from the picture, given how completely different it looks shot on the mannequin. Isn't it amazing what a difference a photo makes?! In any case, since they're in the process of clearing out their inventory, it's also being offered at more than $100 less ($145 vs. $252). Which doesn't seem at all egregious for something so classic, well-made, and everyday wearable.
