Three Looks, One Pair of Madewell Jeans
We hit up Lucky 's Elise Loehnen, who we're on the road with as part of our fall Denim Tour to find out how she wears her favorite part of Rail Straight Jeans. During a pit stop at our Boston store earlier this week, she tossed together three amazing looks in about two seconds, and we wouldn't let her leave the dressing room until we photographed the inspiring evidence. Here, her styling handiwork....
The jeans: Rail Straight in Black Frost, $95
Why she likes them: They're straight without being too skinny, which means they're forgiving--plus, they're a simple fit that works with pretty much anything.
WeekdayFor the creative workplace, balance dark denim with an inventive blazer (like this stretchy felted-wool version) and a spike of color, courtesy of a fluid silk top and vintage beaded necklaces (the turquoise one, a flea market find, originally came from Ghana).(Versailles Blouse, $98; Midnight Blazer, $168; her own shoes and necklaces)
WeekendA colorblocked cardigan, simple tee, and a souk-ish embroidered scarf are the perfect combo for running Saturday errands, apartment decorating, blogging, cooking, and other assorted downtime activities (Elise has many). We're also digging her antique rings, specifically the stamped-coin one (the silver it's made from came from a shipwreck!).(Boyfriend Tee, $24; Colorblock Cardigan, $82; Hand-Beaded Artisan Scarf, $98; The Ankle Bootie, $198; her own rings)
Night outSkip the party dress and try a citified combo of sequined-flecked tee, vintage-inspired cardigan, and black ankle boots (an inspired--yet still elegant--alternative to strappy heels). To tie it all together on a traditional note, Elise stuck with a single great accessory: her classic watch.(Confetti Pocket Tee, $45; Cold Night Cardigan, $98; The Ankle Bootie, $198; her own watch)
