Restoration Hardware's Fashion Experiment

Though it's not unusual at all to see fashion designers branching out into home design (Armani, Calvin Klein, Ralph Lauren, and so on) it's very rare to find furniture manufacturers trying their hands at fashion. So last week I was really surprised to hear that Restoration Hardware has started dabbling in accessories. More specifically: paper-thin, super-fine, oversize, raw edged, exactly-how-I-like-them cashmere scarves.

They're made of Mongolian cashmere that's woven in India at an 100-year old, family-owned factory that still uses antiquated handlooms. There are a bunch of really pretty colors to choose from, from steel grey (my favorite) to a rich, garnet red. And at more than six feet long, there's plenty of material to loop around your neck a couple times or drape around your shoulders to wear as a shawl. Now on sale from $98 to $79 and available for purchase here.
