Maybe it's because of a lingering Wizard of Oz fascination, but I'll always be taken with bright red flats. Particularly when they're $28. Like this pair, care of Fred Flare, which come complete with a folded over bow and big gold ball, which always minimizes the shape of the foot.
I actually think I'll buy a pair to stash in my bag for commuting between holiday parties--they're definitely festive, and the pricetag makes them not precious at all!
