The baggy cropped trouser: Yay or nay?

Everything about this pair of black pants appeals to me, from the slouchy cut to the cropped leg. But there's a nagging voice in my head wondering if they'd be at all flattering.

Now I firmly maintain that a cropped trouser can actually be leg-lengthening, but all the volume in the hip area definitely gives me pause. I almost want to buy them just for my BF's reaction, because any pant that completely changes the shape of my silhouette boggles his mind (to his credit, he likes to explain how strange I would find it if he suddenly busted out some skinny jeans or parachute pants, since he wears the exact same cut of APC jeans every single day).

So I digress: Have you all been wearing this trend? Thoughts on the issue?
