Caroline Rogers of It Looks Good To Me: All That Glitters Is Not Gold

We're completely enamored with textile designer Caroline Rogers' recently launched blog Itlooksgoodtome.com--somuch so that we featured Rogers in our December issue. Not only is hertaste exquisite, but her illustrations (which accompany every post) arepretty gorgeous, too. We've tapped her to guest blog all this week on Lucky Right Now.

Well, here we are at my final post for the week for Lucky . It's been such a great experience. The staff at Lucky are fabulous and all of your comments have been so flattering!

I hope you continue to check in with me over at Looks Good To Me for posts on the holidays, fashion, and food and, of course, check out the LGTM Holiday Print Shop where I am selling limited-edition prints of illustrations from the blog!

For about 10 months out of the year, my style is pretty pared-down and simple. But come November and December, I find myself lusting after all things sequined, beaded, and rhinestone-covered. This year is no different--I am coveting things that are silver and shiny. I want to glisten like a snowflake or polished diamond.

Now while I may be attracted to the most highly bedazzled section of any shop, I have to be realistic. Am I really going to wear knee-high glitter-encrusted boots beyond one or two ill-advised outings? Probably not. I am much more inclined towards sparkly accents like a piece of jewelry or a bit of makeup. Something that I'll be able to wear again and again.

The best part about sparkly accents is that you can do them on the cheap with a little bit of makeup or, you can go for broke and invest in a piece of jewelry or a evening bag that will keep its glimmer long after the clock strikes midnight on December 31st.

Below, I've pulled together an assortment of my favorite things that are silver and sparkly. From easy makeup to beautiful jewelry, there's a little something for everyone.

Clockwise from top left: Urban Decay glitter eyeliner; Katherine Sturgis chain bracelet with lurex thread; M.A.C. glitter; Bethany Lorelle headband; Guerlain Holiday Sublime radiant powder; Made Her Think crystal Dropped a Foxtail necklace (as seen in Lucky!); Lippman Collection + Rodarte nail polish in Marquee Moon; Coach Tangle Ballchain frame bag

Once again thanks for reading this week. I've had a great time! See you on Monday back over at LGTM and follow me on Facebook to stay in touch with all of the latest from the blog! Have a great weekend!
