When it Comes to Closet Maintenance, Where Are You Lazy?
I'm pretty OCD about a lot of things--my closet is color-coordinated, for one--but I can let other things on the to-do list go for a long, long time. Case in point, I was blow-drying my hair this morning when I realized that I haven't been for a haircut since November 2008.
I don't know how that happened. Well, I guess I sort of do: The last time I went to the salon, he relieved me of about 6 inches of hair. And I guess I've spent the last 12 months growing it out. But, seriously...out of hand!
Know what else is out-of-hand? Besides cardigans, of which I have about 30, I own one crewneck sweater. One! Every year, I vow to buy some, and every year is an epic fail, since I'm constantly being distracted by things I'd rather buy. Case in point, I clicked over to J.Crew to check out their offerings and while I was meditating on this very lovely, very practical Dolce cable-knit sweater, my eyes wandered over to the "our stylists also love" column, where they're featuring a chambray shirt, that I absolutely must own (I own three chambray shirts, already!). I love how they've styled it, because that's exactly why chambray shirts are so useful: They're the perfect way to make something really fancy much more appropriate for "day."
But see? I get distracted and completely digress, because I don't need chambray shirts. I need crewneck sweaters!!
What are your big stumbling blocks? I know we've had this conversation before about rainboots, but I need a fall/winter update.
