Yay or Nay: Bobby Pin Fantasia?

While exploring the Jak & Jil blog after Simone's yay-or-nay bangs post from the other day (my vote: YAY), I came across this:

While it's very cute in a girly-steampunk sort of way, I fear it's WAY out of my league. Wouldn't maneuvering all 250 carefully aligned hairpins kinda....blow? Like, timewise? And I suspect you'd have to have mad skills to accomplish it without scraping your scalp. But for a swanky event (a steampunk gala?), I'm totally on board.
