Zac Posen Launches A New, Affordable Line!

Known for his lavishly elegant and (and lavishly priced) gowns--custom pieces can cost around $20,000!--designer Zac Posen is bringing his signature elegance to the masses. He's launching a new diffusion line, Z Spoke, exclusively at Saks this spring. Prices will start at a surprisingly low $78. The real shocker: He describes the collection as "minimalist and utilitarian" and having an "urban hipster quality." Quite a departure from the red carpet.

The pieces are indeed a new direction for Posen: there's a bit moreedge and fewer girly frills, but he still manages to conjure hissignature romance and fantasy.
