Live From Art Basel: Preview the Wynwood Walls

We've tapped camera-wielding professional style spotter Anne Ziegler to bring us the best of Art Basel, underway now in Miami. Here, her report:

Having just arrived in Miami for Art Basel, I have a laundry list of exhibits, pop-up stores, events, and people watching that I want to cover in the next few days. At the top of my list is checking out the Wynwood Walls--an outdoor mural project put on by Deitch Projects and Goldman Properties.

Fifteen international artists--including Shepard Fairey, Nunca, Os Gemeos, and Aiko--were invited to create murals on warehouse walls in the Wynwood Art District, and I figured that I better get there to check it out before the forecasted rain moves in...fingers crossed it stays away.

I was lucky enough to get a sneak preview of the project, which officially opens tonight. While I was there I got to watch the artists, who have been living here for the last month, put the final touches on their massive creations.
