New Label We Adore: Claudine Khiet
When I met Claudine Khiet a year ago in Paris, the economics major turned designer (after 8 years working on the business side of Chanel, she decided to go to design school and study at Parsons) had just started her line and had only a few pieces to show me -- but I was immediately hooked on the clothes.
They were feminine, yet tomboyish; girly, but minimalist; sexy in a '60sFrench librarian sort of way. And the kind you could just throw on andgo. Now her pieces are available here in NYC at TG170--and their je ne sais quoi hasn't worn off. Bonus, the prices fallright in line with my other favorite Frenchie imports. Definitely worthseeking out.
