The Chicest Gift Ever For Just $5!
I just stumbled on these votive holders at Elizabeth Bauer Design, an interiors boutique in downtown Manhattan, and don't think I've ever seen an item that's this stylish and this well-priced. I kick myself for not finding them sooner, since I would have bought at least a dozen to dole out for the holidays.
They're made of glass that's decoupaged with tissue paper in a cane motif that comes in an array of colors. They have a handmade feel, and I love that they're produced with traditional materials using a process that dates back to the Victorian era. Meanwhile, the pattern is fresh and graphic, and can work just about anywhere. I like the idea of gifting a set of three in colors that reflect the season (sky blue is perfect for summer, while the red one feels festive and holiday-ish)--they'd look so pretty scattered around the dining table for a dinner party. Shockingly, they're only $5 apiece, so even if you buy multiples they're still a bargain (I suggest loading up on a bunch to keep on-hand as last minute hostess or birthday presents). They also come in a coral or damask print, and for just a dollar more, there are also these colored glass versions.
