Wanted: Jewelry Box
As mentioned, I moved a couple of months ago, and have slowly been organizing--and color-coordinating--every corner of my apartment. In fact, my boyfriend finally had to ask me to rein it in, since he's starting to feel like he lives in a Crayola 64-pack. But as satisfied as I am with the extreme OCD of most of the space, I still haven't found the best means for organizing my jewelry. I have some hooks in the closet for longer, bulkier necklaces, and a ton of vintage trays for smaller pieces, but I want one cohesive jewelry box that's not shabby chic or overly traditional. And I want that jewelry box to open from the front (not the top).
I'm imagining a white lacquer mini-chest--like an eensy version of this Vinstra style from Ikea, minus the mirror. You would think West Elm would make this, but no such luck.
Pottery Barn has some pretty intensive options but they open from the top (and they're not cheap). It's not at all the style of my apartment, but I actually really like this nicely priced version from theSundance Catalog ($45).
(And as a complete aside, I'm into these lace-like gold earrings from the Sundance Catalog, too. They really do have good jewelry.)
Have any of you seen any good options out there?
