Target Sets "Treasure Hunts" In 1,000 Locations
Target likes to play games. (The good, fun, shopping kind.) Following closely on the heels of its pop-up shop and three-city gift card scavenger hunt, the retailer's launched a cool new shopping adventure.

As reported in WWD , the mass retailer is changing up the standard shopping experience with a special warehouse-style section (think Costco or Sam's Club) in more than 1,700 locations across the country called The Great Save, 1,000 of which will feature "treasure hunts" with designer items stocked throughout the bulk items.
Buried between the case of Poland Springs and the 12-pack of Bounty, you might discover Calvin Klein sunglasses (marked down to $60) or Acqua di Gio by Giorgio Armani fragrances (now $20).
The Target spokesperson quoted in WWD explained this is not a move to compete with warehouse-style bulk retailers but instead a solution to filling the 3,000-square-foot seasonal spaces that are now void of artificial Christmas trees, strings of lights, and furry stockings. Either way, we're pretty excited. Who doesn't like a little treasure hunt now and then?
