Backstage At Christian Siriano: Modern Retro
THE MAKEUP: Siriano wanted a look with an air of Paris in the '60s. The makeup was bold but minimal, focusing on defined brows and lips while leaving everything else bare.
For the brows, makeup artists applied clear brow gel, then worked in abrown powder, creating the wispy effect with a small brush. Brow and hair color didn't necessarily match, either; all the models had a dark, definedbrow in chocolate/mahogany, even the blond ones.
The lips were a gorgeous matte fuchsia. The surprisingly wearable shade? Victoria's Secret Matte Cream Lipstick in Lavish.
THE HAIR: Very glamorous, but soft and romantic. There were two styles. The first was aclassic twisted up-do with a bit of wave in the front. The other, also featuring asoft wave, was left down and wrapped to the side. The stylists createdthe look with a curling iron, teasing comb, and LOT of Aveda AirControl hairspray.
