Fashion Week Scorecard: Jason Wu

The Show: Jason Wu

The Scene: Super-civilized andcozy, with lush, transparent ruby-hued fabric draped from floor toceiling down one long narrow ruby-carpet-lined corridor and a runwayflanked by intimate rows of vintage parlor chairs. You'd hardly know wewere in a raw loft near the West Side Highway.

The Celebs: It was so dimly lit inside 'til showtime we couldn't makeout who was occupying the three stretch limos waiting outside thevenue that nearly took up the entire block.

The Models: Daria! Frida! Karlie!

The Music: Classical.

The Look: Boy-meet-girl, but in a very high brow, library-smart coolsort of way as opposed to the currently ubiquitous street-smart take onthe trend. Wu showed a lot of relaxed menswear shapes reminiscent of what IrvingPenn wore (the show was based on Irving's photos), but femmed up withtextures like transparent fabrics, feathers, gold leaf splatterd paints, and laser-cut lace.

What We Loved: In our dreams we're wearing one of the wispy tullefeather dresses; in reality it's going to be the lush alpacaangora-sleeved traveler coat and a pair of those awesome oversizecat-eye aviator sunglasses by Modo.
