Fashion Week Scorecard: Michael Kors
The Show: Michael Kors
The Scene: Michael's usual horseshoe-shaped runway in The Tent at Bryant Park
The Celebrities: Molly Sims and Laura Linney
The Music: Odyssey's Native New Yorker
The models: Casual ponytails and just-back-from-my-winter-holiday-in-St.-Barth's glowing cheeks
The Look: Kors said it best when he called this collection "the quintessential American sportswear wardrobe." It was filled with cashmere, cashmere, and more cashmere in the form of oversize sweaters, long sweeping skirts, clean-lined bodysuits, sweater dresses, and chic, classic coats; mammoth furs straight off the sidewalks Aspen; a hit of lurex for daytime shine; and paillette gowns for evening glamour. Fur bags, fast becoming the season's ubiquitous accessory, finished off the looks.
What We Loved: The suede skinny slouchy pants; the navy shirtdress over gray pants, and the ultimate indulgence--the sable buckle coat.
