Fashion Week Scorecard: Narciso Rodriguez
The Show: Narciso Rodriguez
The Scene: The Tent at Bryant Park
The Celebs: Kelly Rutherford, Jeff Beck, Leigh Lezark of the Misshapes
Models: Barely-there makeup with a hint of a strong brow. Hair was sleek, shiny, parted in the center, and worn either long and loose or tied back in a no-nonsense ponytail.
The Look: Narciso presented his take on futuristic minimalism with tailoring that was anything but minimal. Yokes, bias-cut panels, cut outs, and cowls were integrated into asymmetrical designs. His blend of fabrics magnified the brilliant cut of each piece. A combination of textured silk, wool, neoprene, and shearling looked so luxe you could imagine the feel of it from your seat. Though the color palette was mostly shades of black and gray, there were delightful pops of amber and emerald ombre.
What We Loved: The funnel-neck shearling jacket (below) and a black wool skirt topped with the biggest pill box hat I've ever seen.
