Fashion Week Scorecard: Ralph Lauren
The Show: Ralph Lauren
The Venue: An intimate nook of Skylight Studios (there were two shows),decked out in oversize black chandeliers and white risers with plushblack velvet cushions.
The Music: Vintage Stevie Nicks alongside a modern-day remix of Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean"
The Look: A little Tudors (mutton sleeves on shrunken spencer jackets),a little Great Gatsby (below-the-knee chiffon dresses in earthy florals, beaded beanie caps, and tweedy jackets), and a little beatnik(head-to-toe black in a skinny silhouette and lush textures like velvetand suede).
What We Loved: The soft mutton sleeve tunic dresses belted at the hip in burgundy velvet and black suede; a stunning blackbeaded halter/tank hybrid; and, as Hope Greenberg noted after theshow, shearling jackets brilliantly treated to look like the mostluxurious of all fluffy furs.
