I'm Back--and Shopping Like Crazy

I've been on hiatus from blogging (big thank you for those who noticed and very sweetly commented in the interim!) for the last few weeks for reasons too long and dull to unload on you here. I made a big life decision while I was checked out that I wanted to share with you though, which, true to form, I celebrated with some serious online shopping.

So, after ten years in New York, I've decided to pack up and move to San Francisco! It'll be a big change, and leaving New York City is bittersweet, but there's a ton I'm looking forward to about the west coast--and not freezing through the winter might be chief among them. Though my down parka, cashmere mittens, and wool tights have served me well, I can't wait to relegate it all to the back of my closet. Going bare legged year-round sounds especially amazing to me right about now as I slog through my last snowy east coast winter, and in my excitement I just ordered THREE new pairs of shoes I'm dying to show off with cropped pants and floaty dresses.

The spree took place on stevemadden.com, and started with some leopard flats. Those who have been keeping up already know of my addiction, and how could I resist this pair in luxe pony hair, with their perfectly, softly pointed toes and practical rubber soles (key for not slipping on SF's steep hilly streets!)--especially at just $39.95? And then I saw this Hepburn-esque, wear-them-with-anything black suede pair, on sale for $29.98 (originally $59.95) and had to give them a home too. I thought I was done when along came the Dolle (the description said the lacy cutouts are just right for summery weather, and for letting a pedicure peek through--done and done!), which were also on sale for $39.98 from $79.95, and those went straight in my shopping cart. Oh, and to sweeten the deal, shipping is free with code "SMFREESHIP".

There's a lot more to check out in Madden's sale section: from the flirty, four-inch Alisah to the cool, edgy-looking suede Taaboo booties, it's all here.
