Postcard From Milan: Dsquared2
It was quite a sight for a 9 a.m. runway show: Heavycurtains parted to reveal two nearly nakedbuff dudes wearing not much more than a few white bandages flanking an industrial-grade steel elevator. Moments later, the firstmodel was lowered to the ground.
A secondlater Carmen Kass was stomping down the runway--a power glamazon indark glasses and a sharp black coat with thick fur trim.
Whatfollowed, in a palette of red and black, were tight, curvy, sexyclothes including lots of leather (skirt suits, dresses and jackets);plenty of short, strapless numbers; a fair amount of hardware; Latexleggings; and models with death stares.
In the aggressive mix, though, were some very wearable pieces: fitted black pencilskirt suits; a grey sheath dress with matching jacket; a clever blackleather motorcycle shirt dress; and even some tailored cropped pantswith crisp button-down shirts. Dan and Dean Canten, the twin-brother Dsquared2 designers, took their bow in matching replicas of this verylook.
