Postcard From Paris: Behind The Scenes At Chanel

Aspromised in my Chanel show post the other day, here are behind-the-scenes photos from our showroom appointment.

Interesting factfor anyone Chanel-obsessed: The showroom is adjacent to 31 RueCambon--Coco Chanel's home! We were briefly lost among the multiplefloors and spiral staircases, and were opening random doors attempting tofind the showroom. I was praying that somehow we would stumble uponher apartment, maintained exactly as she left it and open only to theVIP-est of VIPs for private tours.

Anyway, no apartment sighting, but just getting to view the insanely amazing runway looks up close was excitementenough. Check out the ice cube bags; the fur boot samples; thepileup of runway boots; theoutrageous fur pants; the ice princess gown; and the polar bear coat.
