Of all of the trends we see recycled season after season, here's one that doesn't pop up often: nun-chic. But that was the message on the Yves Saint Laurent runway.
Austere black and white clothes with Mother Superior accessories dominated the the show. Of course, there were modern details like perspex capelets and envelope clutches, as well as plenty of beautiful, tailored skirts, pants, jackets and jumpsuits that, styled less severely, would be timeless pieces you could wear for years. The bright satin evening looks were an arresting finale.
