Why You Need Yet Another Canvas Tote

OK, so everyone knows that canvas totes make excellent substitutes for plastic bags at the grocery store. Totally noted. But if you're like me, you probably often find yourself in the check-out line, having forgotten your stash of sturdy bags in the back of the car. This is why I have a new rule: I now collect whispy, paper-thin totes which fold down to nothing and weigh as much as air, like this one from the uber-popular Maptote. I keep one stashed in my purse at all times.

That way, whenever I wander into a drug store or deli or even a clothing boutique, I have something in which to place my purchases. I can't even begin to imagine how many bags it has saved. Innumerable! Do you guys have any good eco tips? After all, Earth Day is just around the corner!
