My Top 5: Short-Sleeved Dresses

Unlike my esteemed colleague Jen Ford, who wears so many dresses and skirts that she challenged herself to a week of wearing solely pants, I am a pants girl. Dresses typically haven't been my thing, but this summer I'm adding them into the rotation, starting with cute short-sleeved ones.

A.P.C. cap-sleeve dress: Isn't this dress adorable? It's a really simple cut and the fit is amazing. On cooler days, you could layer a long-sleeve tee underneath.

Lucca Couture striped dress: This chic take on a classic nautical striped top has a low scoop in the back--always super-sexy. You can wear it in so many ways, just like the ever-popular blue-and-white shirt.

French Connection lace dress: In the June issue of Lucky, we did a story on lace accessories, but I'm also really into lace clothing right now. This style is so pretty and the structured shape makes it really flattering.

Opening Ceremony short-sleeve pleat dress: Wear this dress with a flat ankle boot to balance out the girly silhouette. The swingy skirt is really fun to dance in!

Zero + Maria Cornejo Mara Dress: If you are looking for something fancier, this is a not-at-all boring little black dress. It's one of those incredibly comfortable pieces that you can just throw on, and it doesn't need too much accessorizing.
