The Luggage You Can't Live Without
I have the saddest assortment of mismatched, non-functional luggage imaginable. My collection includes, but is not limited to, one enormously unwieldy piece that doesn't even have wheels that I use when I travel to Europe for fashion shows, and a hanging bag (yes, they still exist), also among my fashion-show staples, that fails to grip the hangers so that by the time I unpack, all of my clothes are balled on the bottom. Needless to say, I'm in desperate need of an upgrade, but when I have the choice between spending money on new shoes or a roll-aboard, you can guess which one I always pick. However, I think I've finally found the luggage that's going to inspire me to clean up my travel act.
Last week we checked out the Lands' End fall preview and got a first look at the new Le FlightWise collection, debuting August 1. Each style is a smart, chic, frills-free shape in the most lightweight but sturdy nylon--and all are designed to fit in the overhead compartment. The best part is that not a single piece is more than $170.
In addition to the luggage, we were also loving the the second season of the Lands' End Canvas Collection, a younger, slouchier alternative to the company's more traditional fare. Canvas has everything you want to live in for weekends, including broken-in khakis, boyfriend jeans, button-down shirts in plaids, polkadots, and stripes, a motocross buckle-collar jacket, and a ridiculously soft, slightly full corduroy miniskirt I'm pretty sure the entire fashion department will be wearing this fall.
