My Top 5: Printed Shorts

Inspired by a feature about mixing prints in the March issue of Lucky , I decided to invest in some cute patterned shorts to wear on the weekends. I want to pair them with striped shirts and colorful printed blouses and tanks. Here are five pairs that I could not be more excited about.

Left: Dries van Noten; Right: Topshop

Dries Van Noten Silk Geometric-Print Shorts: I've been eyeing these tantalizing geometric squares for quite some time. They feel like a modern take on gingham--and the more neutral scheme lets you to wear these with pretty much anything you would pair with a solid black short.

Topshop Parrot-Print Shorts: I've never been leopard-print wearer, but that doesn't mean I rule out all animal prints. The colorful parrots so playful!

Left: Marc Jacobs; Right: Victoria's Secret

Marc Jacobs Silk Iris-Print Shorts: This amazing pair from Marc Jacobs will surely win you a "most chic" award at an island-themed party. (You never know when you'll get an invite to a themed party. I like to be prepared for all potential themes).

Victoria's Secret Floral Short: This floral, summery palette makes me happy. The wide waistband is a secret tummy flattener. I'd throw these on over a swimsuit at the beach or with a button-down in the city.

Michael Michael Kors Printed Two-Button Shorts: This print is a very cool cross between a tie-dye and splatter paint--and the color combination reads as nautical. These could be paired with a cool jacket for the city or white, airy tops for the country.
