Ever Wonder What It's Like Inside The Mad Men Costume Closet?
We certainly have. That's why it was so exciting to stumble across this video of Mad Men costume designer Janie Bryant giving a behind-the-scenes tour of the show's wardrobe, which is housed inside a massive trailer. And it's everything we hoped it would be. Click through to view the clip.
Offering more than just a peek inside, Bryant also discusses the inspiration behind several of our favorite characters' looks, like Betty Francis (January Jones), Joan Harris (Christina Hendricks), and Peggy Olson (Elisabeth Moss). She even highlights a dress she designed for Jones, a beautiful long-sleeved lilac number with floral details and a matching belt.
We also loved hearing about how every single outfit detail is so carefully thought out--right down to the undergarments. "Usually the audience doesn't see the foundation pieces," explains Bryant, "but it is so important for me to have them not only feel their character on the outside, but the inside as well."What's with All the Spam in the Comments Section?
