My Top 5: Fourth of July Essentials
Immediately after I finish this blog post I'm going to pack up to head to the Jersey Shore. I'll be traveling light this weekend, because my plan is to stay on the beach from sunrise to sunset.
Here's what I'm bringing:
1. Filson: This is (in my opinion) the perfect weekend bag--I love the rugged yet preppy look. It's a great investment because it won't go out of style and it's very durable.
2. J.Crew: I always pack a lightweight button-down when going to the beach. I throw it on when the weather starts to cool down and then I wear it in the evening with a pair of jeans or even over a dress.

3. Marc by Marc Jacobs: It doesn't get more festive than this! I think that Marc should start designing for the US Olympic swim team.
4. Levi's:To me, nothing says summertime like a pair of short-shorts. I am all about the classics, so only vintage Levi's will do. You can find an assortment at Urban Outfitters.
5. Eyebobs Eyewear(at left):These baby blues are pretty sensitive to light, so I make sure to provide them with the utmost protection. This is my favorite style this season, and I am a huge fan of the classic tortoiseshell.
These five pieces, plus a couple of vintage tees and some SPF, are all I'll need. I may stick out like a sore thumb next to the likes of Snookie and The Situation, but I'll always stay true to my look, especially on the most patriotic of occasions.
