Yet Another Totally Excellent, Must-Have Strappy Espadrille Wedge

Much has already been said about the strappy espadrille wedge(it really is this summer's must-have shoe!)--but in the event that you have yet to take the plunge on one, I'm offering up my nomination for the best of the rest.

It's called the Carsyn by Lauren Ralph Lauren. The straps are made of wide bands of black elastic, which are not only supremely comfortable against your foot, but have a cool/tough/modern look I love. There are leather reinforcements across the toe and at the heel for support that also give a nice bit of slickness to contrast the matte elastic. The raffia heel is more tightly woven than that of a traditional espadrille, and hence feels a little more refined too. I ordered a pair about a month ago and can attest to how easy they are to walk around in despite the fact that they're 4" tall (and coming from a dedicated flats wearer, that's saying a lot). I can also vouch for the fact that they also look and feel really well constructed, and for all that chic and quality, I'd have guessed they'd be way, way more than $54.99.
