3.1 Phillip Lim: Fashion Week Scorecard
The Scene: The massive Park Avenue Armory, the runway dotted with oversize pieces of French-style wall molding and the front row dotted with Alexa Chung, Elisa Sednaoui, and Lissy Trullie.
The Look: Lightly tailored, lightly layered, lightly embellished--this collection felt like old Phillip Lim in the best possible way. He stripped it down to a palette of black, white, blush, and camel; gave utilitarian shapes like T-shirts, trench coats, and pencil skirts a languid feminine feel in chiffon, silk, sequins, and lace; and added chunky-slick platform leather heels and extra long silk scarves tied around the neck for a '70s meets Gatsby-era '20s mix.
The Pieces We Want: The thin-sweater-and-collared-silk-shirt combos; the paneled pencil mini; the delicate black-and-white lace trench.Click through for photos.
