Fashion Week Makes Me Want to Shop

Fellow Lucky blogger Ray Siegel and I shared the same dilemma on Friday, aka day two of Fashion Week. Everything (everything!) in my closet right now feels totally, embarrassingly unexciting. And because we've been running Vanessa Jackman's gorgeous street style photographs, I'm constantly gazing at pictures that make me think, "If only I had this (sweater, belt, clutch) I'd feel so much cooler marching up to Lincoln Center."

To quell the crisis, I made my way downtown today to the Elizabeth and James pop-up shop in the West Village at 632 Hudson Street, which is open until Thursday. It's kind of my shopping fantasy come to life. The pieces--like a surplus army jacket (above) and an oversize wool sweater (below) that could pull double-duty as a jacket--are exactly what's missing from my wardrobe right now.
